Investors with less than £50000 to be unprofitable for IFAs

Investors with less than £50000 at their disposal are likely to be unprofitable for IFAs according to new research from Allianz Global Investors.

The respective research revealed that 60 percent of the 166 advisers surveyed did not feel that they can offer clients an unchanged service should they have less than £50,000 to invest.

As the RDR comes into full-effect on January 1st 2013, clients will therefore have two options; either shun their financial advisor or have to pay for ‘full service’ financial advice.

However, 13 percent of advisers revealed that they will continue to provide smaller investors with the same service levels, even if they are unprofitable to serve.
