Next shares lead FTSE 100 risers following sales increase

Next shares lead the FTSE 100 risers on a positive Thursday for the index following a better than expected increase in sales. The clothing retailer has also lifted its full-year profit forecast on the back of its encouraging performance in the the run up to Christmas.

Speaking to Reuters, chief executive Simon Wolfson noted:

“I think it is getting slowly better in that the difference between inflation and wages is narrowing and I think will probably continue to narrow.”
