P2P Global Investments IPO allows retail to buy shares

Retail investors can buy shares in P2P Global Investments IPO, a vehicle which aims to invest in loans that originate from peer to peer lending.

The peer to peer investment trust, the first of its kind in the UK is aiming to generate net asset returns of 5-15% and 6-8% income through buying loans on peer to peer investment platforms such as Funding Circle.

P2P Global Investments IPO is looking to raise £200m to invest in loans such as those on peer to peer investment platforms.

With mainstream banks required to holder high amounts of capital and thus reluctant to lend, peer to peer lending has seen an increase in demand as an alternative source of finance.

P2P Global Investments is operated by hedge fund manager Marshall Wace, who has £18bn under its control.

A number of stockbrokers including Barclays Stockbrokers are advertising the offer, allowing retail investors to buy shares in P2P Global Investments IPO. The offer carries a minimum investment requirement of £1,000.

The offer closes on 27th May 2014.
