Associates are organisations other than business angel groups who have evident interest in the business angel and SME investment market. This includes corporate financiers, academics, solicitors, accountants, venture capitalists and other relevant professionals and intermediaries.

The cost to join BBAA as an Associate is £500 plus VAT [£587.50] subscriptions will be payable on the 1st April of each year.

As an associate the benefits of joining BBAA include:
  • A Formal Associate of the UK's only National Trade Association for the business angel industry
  • Electronic Directory including details of your services, website links and up to 200 words to describe your involvement in the business angel and SME investment market.
  • Board membership: a limited number of members from each category can be nominated to the BBAA Board - subject to fulfilling nomination procedures and approvals
  • Invitation to the annual BBAA Conference, which include keynote speakers and opportunities to share best practice. Opportunities to contribute.
  • Annual free workshop to be held around the country with the opportunity both to hear high-level speakers and to contribute expertise.
  • Opportunities to network with business angel groups and other associates and affiliates including bankers/solicitors/accountants.
  • Monthly newsletter providing market intelligence, trends, up to date news on national and regional events and developments, members' news, opportunity to publicise local events and contribute professional articles
  • BBAA Web-site (including a password protected area): Offering database and profiles of BBAA members and associates, including details of services offered; information on market trends and policy development; news of events both for BBAA and members, associates and affiliates;
  • Participation in Consultations: opportunities to be involved in consultation exercises- meetings or electronic surveys relating to policy and other developments concerning the informal investment market and other related issues
